About

Sharon Zhu was born and raised in Shanghai, China. She completed her BA in Music at the University of Newcastle, UK, and was awarded a full scholarship to undertake studies for a PhD in Composition at Princeton University, USA.
 
She was Senior Promotion Executive at Boosey & Hawkes Music Publishers, where she worked closely with leading contemporary composers such as John Adams, Unsuk Chin, HK Gruber and Qigang Chen, as well as composer estates including those of Britten, Bernstein and Stravinsky. She continues to advise Boosey & Hawkes as Senior Consultant for Asia.
 
Between 2015 and 2020 Sharon ran her own contemporary art gallery, House of Egorn, in Berlin, which presented nearly 30 exhibitions in two spaces in central Berlin and also at pop-up locations in London, working with a wide range of artists from five continents. It participated in various art fairs across Europe, and collaborated with notable curators and writers including Hans Ulrich Obrist (Serpentine Gallery), Fatos Ustek (Liverpool Biennial), Kiki Mazzuchelli (Sao Paolo Biennial) and Victor Wang (M Woods Museum, Beijing).



Most recently, Sharon has worked closely with the director Simon McBurney as Executive Producer for all his opera and concert projects. She is currently collaborating with a small roster of creative artists as Manager/Producer, and serves as a Trustee of London's Little Angel Theatre and Aurora Orchestra.
